Casillas, Ronaldo, Alonso and Ancelotti already know what it is to win the Champions League

All four have lifted at least one European Cup.

Lisbon will be the epicentre of world football on Saturday the 24th of May. There, Real Madrid will take on Atlético for its tenth European Cup and they will be helped by the experience of three players who have already won the Champions League: Iker Casillas, Cristiano Ronaldo and Xabi Alonso. In addition, Carlo Ancelotti knows what it is to win the competition as both a player and a coach.

Iker Casillas has two Champions League medals in his trophy cabinet. He won the first in the 1999/2000 season, when he started in the final against Valencia (3-0). Two years later came the club's ninth, in a match in which he replaced César in the 65th minute and made some game-changing saves against Bayer Leverkusen.

Finding the net in the final
Cristiano Ronaldo took the title in the 2007/2008 final against Chelsea, which was decided on penalties. Manchester United's goal during normal time came through an extraordinary header from the Portuguese player.

For his part, Xabi Alonso also scored in Liverpool’s title-winning match during the 2004/2005 season. The midfielder made it 3-3 to complete the English side’s comeback against AC Milan, who had taken a 3-0 lead, with the match then going on to be decided on penalties.
CARLO ANCELOTTI HAS WON TWO EUROPEAN CUPS AS A PLAYERS AND ANOTHER TWO AS A MANAGER.
The Real Madrid manager’s first two European Cup wins came as an AC Milan player. In 1989 the Italians beat Steaua Bucarest 4-0 and in 1990 they defeated Benfica 1-0, with Ancelotti starting both games. He then went on to manage Milan and won a further two Champions League titles with the club. In the 2002/2003 season they beat Juventus on penalties after it finished 0-0 at full time, and then in the 2006/2007 season they won 2-1 against Liverpool.
