Madrid start key Liga week against Valencia

The Whites are looking to round off a great week with victory over Valencia to stay in the hunt for the championship.
On several occasions Ancelotti has mentioned the desire and hunger he sees in his dressing room. It may be the key to the team lifting the Copa and reaching the final of the Champions League. And, without doubt, it will be this ambition that will make them fight for the Liga until the last breath. The first opportunity to show this desire comes tonight (9 pm) against Valencia.

The new European Cup finalists will appear in front of their supporters with a big dose of morale after their historic night in Munich. Needless to say, their dream of a tenth European title has been set aside for a few weeks to concentrate on the final stages of the Liga. A championship in which they have been sweeping to victory in recent matches: three 4-0 wins and another 5-0 victory in the last four games.
KHEDIRA RETURNS TO THE MATCHDAY SQUAD AND MODRIC IS OUT INJURED.
With these recent results, the Whites are hoping to add three more points and for Atlético de Madrid to slip up. Ancelotti has called up 20 players. The big news is the return of Sami Khedira after overcoming a knee injury. Modric, on the other hand, with a knock to his calf, joins Arbeloa and Jesé on the injury list.

Valencia look for a victory to ease the pain
The Mestalla side arrive in Madrid after their painful elimination from the Europa League. Pizzi hopes his team will "regain their joy with a win at the Bernabéu". The coach has called up 18 players, with Piatti, Gayà, Senderos, Oriol Romeu and Víctor Ruiz all absent. Valencia have only won 3 of their 17 away games. Though of course, one of them was at the Camp Nou.

Records favour Real Madrid
The records for matches between Real Madrid and Valencia at the Santiago Bernabéu are very much in the Whites' favour. The balance is 78 wins, 11 draws and 9 defeats. Madrid are also unbeaten against Valencia since 2009. Tonight, in front of fans spurred on by their reaching the Champions League final, Ancelotti's men will attempt to continue their winning ways and show that they will fight for the Liga to the end.
