Khedira, the tenth Madrid player to win the World Cup

Netzer, Valdano, Karembeu, Roberto Carlos, Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Xabi Alonso, Arbeloa and Albiol previously achieved the feat.
Khedira is the tenth player in the history of Real Madrid to win a World Cup while belonging to Real Madrid. The midfielder, who was due to start in the final, withdrew minutes before kick-off against Argentina with an injury he picked up in the warm up. The Madrid footballer played in five matches, starting four of them, scoring one goal and setting one up. Another German player, Günter Netzer, was the first Madrid player to win the World Cup in1974.

Jorge Valdano joined the list 12 years later, at the World Cup in Mexico, which was won by Argentina with four goals from the Whites’ striker. In 1998, France won the World Cup in their own country. The French side included Real Madrid player Karembeu. Roberto Carlos’ Brazil succeeded the French four years later in South Korea and Japan. The Whites full-back was a regular starter and a key member of the team.
HE IS THE SECOND GERMAN TO DO SO AFTER NETZER.
In 2010, Spain won its first World Cup star with five Real Madrid players. Casillas, the captain, Sergio Ramos, Xabi Alonso, Arbeloa and Albiol all lifted the trophy in South Africa.

Three champions who came to Real Madrid
Three other players won the World Cup and signed for Real Madrid later that summer. They are the German Paul Breitner, who joined the team after winning with Germany in 1974. After  starring in the 2002 World Cup, Ronaldo signed for Real Madrid. Finally, Cannavaro captained Italy in 2006 and signed for the Whites ten days later.
