The charity event was held at the Manolo Santana Stadium and raised funds for two projects of the tennis player and footballer's foundations.
The Mutua Madrid Open, Rafa Nadal and Iker Casillas presented the Charity Day. The event was held today at the Manolo Santana Stadium at the Caja Mágica, where eight teams made up of tennis players, celebrities, Casillas and Nadal played in pairs in a tennis and a football-tennis competition.
The profits from ticket sales, boxes and the gala dinner will go to two projects of the tennis player and footballer's foundations: 'Integration and Sport', of the Rafael Nadal Foundation, and the 'Inclusive Sport for Children of Different Abilities' programme, of the Real Madrid Foundation and the Iker Casillas Foundation.
The Iker Casillas Foundation was set up in April 2011 to meet the needs of vulnerable children and young people nationally and internationally. On this occasion the funds raised went to one of the Real Integration Plan programmes for Children in Sport with Different Abilities, of the Real Madrid Foundation. The Rafael Nadal Foundation was created in 2008 to offer education programmes to children and young people in Spain and India. Around 190 children and young people take part in the 'Integration and Sport' scheme in Barcelona, Granada and Zaragoza.
