Madrid need to win in Valladolid in order to stay in the fight for the league title

The Whites visit the José Zorilla in the game post-poned for the Copa del Rey final.
If anyone thought that Real Madrid weren't going to fight for the league title until the very end does not know the history of this club. Cristiano's goal in injury time against Valencia served as a warning: Madrid never gives up. There are three battles left, and all of them must be won. The first, tonight in Valladolid (21:00h C+ Liga and GolT), is corresponding to round 34 of league fixtures, post-poned due to the cup.

Ancelotti's side go to the José Zorilla knowing that only three points will do. Then they will have to wait and see if Atlético lose one, or draw both, of their remaining games. Difficult, but not impossible, as was shown last weekend.
THE TITLE AND SURVIVAL ARE IN PLAY TONIGHT.
The Italian coach has selected 19 players for the game tonight. The return of Luka Modric from a thigh injury, which caused him to miss the draw against Valencia, is the main piece of news. The absentees are Carvajal, Bale, Jesé and Arbeloa. Cristiano, who knows what it takes to score in Valladolid, will try to continue his spectacular run of eight consecutive games in which he has found the back of the net.

A final for Valladolid
Near enough all the sides in the league will be waiting for the result of this game tonight. In addition to the title fight, Valladolid are right in the thick of the relegation scrap. They currently sit second bottom and need to win if they are to escape. Juan Ignacio Martínez is without Manucho due to injury.

Past meetings favour Real Madrid
The numbers between the two sides favour Ancelotti's men, who have won 53 of the 83 meetings between the sides in the league. Real Madrid, who haven't lost to Valladolid since 2008, average four goals per game in their last five meetings with the Castilla y León outfit.
