In order to host the European Super Cup its capacity has been increased to 33,000.
Real Madrid will visit the Cardiff City Stadium for the first time. The ground was built in 2009 with a capacity of close to 27,000 spectators, but that figure has been increased to 33,000 for the European Super Cup. It is located in the area of Leckwith and is the home ground for Cardiff City football club and rugby team, the Cardiff Blues.

This will not be the first time the Whites visit the Welsh capital. Real Madrid played an official match in Ninian Park, the ground that Cardiff City Stadium replaced. The game was against Cardiff City in the first leg of the 70-71 Cup Winners’ Cup quarter-finals (1-0). The Madrid side turned the tie around in the Bernabéu with goals from Velázquez and Fleitas.
